Dairy farmer Alan Bartlett pushes a cart full of feed toward one end of the milking barn before starting to feed the herd during the evening milking cycle on the Bartlett Farm in Concord, New Hampshire.

I liked this photo for a couple of reasons. The first is that it is a good illustration of how an entire milking barn looks from the inside. The second is that it portrays the hard work that is requried of dairy farmers on a daily basis. Adding to this is the way that Alan's face was lit, just as he was walking under a light, and him pushing the feed cart reminded me of someone pushing a coal cart inside a coal mine.
