Jonathan Cate of Concord, New Hampshire takes a break from helping out in the barn to play with the Bartlett's dogs while helping out in the barn during the evening milking at the Bartlett Farm in Concord.

This photo was not something that I was looking for or had planned to shoot in advance. I was doing an interview at the time but had a camera with me just in case I saw something interesting, which obviously I did. The boy pictured comes by the barn occasionally to help out and play around with the animals. While I was conducting an interview with the Bartletts he dropped in to help for a while and then started playing with the dogs. The picture was used because I felt that it did a good job of showing some of the positive aspects of farm life, especially for children.
