Moments like these are fewer with each passing year as family farms disappear from the Northern New England landscape.

There were many elements that led me to shoot this photo. The couple talking in the foreground and the family members in the background were both interesting elements. The facial expressions on the young couple and the way the light fell on them was also a strong draw. After scanning in the photo I looked at it and wondered if these two would ever go on to farm or if they will end up pursuing other interests. In hind site I could have asked if they planned to farm but I think part of what made this photo work for me was the mystery of that question. To know would take something away from it.
