Red-eye created from the camera's flash gives Quincy Granite wide receiver Bill MacDougall a look of demonic intensity as he runs with the ball during the Granite's EFL semi-final playoff game against the Springfield Blitzin Bears.
Photojournalist Remarks
Normally red-eye is something to be avoided at all costs and filtered out in the computer if unavoidable. In this case I left it there because I liked the effect. I was also using shutter speeds that were considerably slower than I normally would use for shooting sports, with the intention of getting a blurred effect. When doing this there are probably twenty shots that aren't usable for every one that is. You have to catch it just right.
